How to Use This Tool
Overview
This tool helps you build your LinkedIn network strategically. Generate personalized connection messages, track responses, and maintain relationship historyβall in one place.
First Time Setup
Before generating messages, go to the Settings tab and fill in your information:
- Your name
- What you do (1-2 sentences about your professional focus)
- Your location (optional, for local connections)
This customizes all generated messages to reflect your work, making the tool truly yours.
Step 1: Generate Your Message
- Select a category that matches your connection (Peers/Collaborators, Business Connections, Local Connections, or Personal Referrals)
- Fill in their details at minimum, their first name and company
- Add context in the "Specific Detail" field (like a recent post topic or their work focus)
- Click "Generate Message" to create personalized connection options
- Review the messages - you'll see 1-2 options depending on category (Peers and Business show both Casual/Friendly and Professional versions)
- Click "Copy" on the message you prefer
- Click "Add to Tracker" to save the connection to your history
Step 2: Send on LinkedIn
- Go to the person's LinkedIn profile
- Click "Connect"
- Click "Add a note"
- Paste your copied message
- Click "Send"
Step 3: Track Your Connections
Switch to the "Track Connections" tab to manage your network:
- Update status as people respond (Sent β Accepted, Declined, or Pending)
- Add notes to track conversations, follow-ups, or insights
- View full history by clicking the "View" button
- Monitor stats at the top (total sent, accepted, acceptance rate)
Best Practices
- Pace yourself: LinkedIn allows 100 connection requests per weekβaim for 15-20 per day
- Be specific: Reference something from their profile or recent activity
- Keep it short: Stay well under 300 characters when possible
- Best times to send: Tuesday-Thursday mornings, lunch hours, or early evenings
- Track immediately: Add connections to your tracker right after sending
- Follow up: When someone accepts, add a note about next steps
Pro Tip
Always paste their LinkedIn URL when adding to the tracker. This makes it easy to revisit their profile when they accept your connection or when you're ready to engage further.
